EVOLVE

EVOLVE – From Support to Stability

EVOLVE is the structured residential skill-development and engagement framework of Estaugh Estates Discovery House.

Rather than separating “programming” from everyday life, EVOLVE uses ordinary residential experiences as opportunities for young people to practice skills, discover strengths, make decisions, build relationships and prepare for their futures.

EVOLVE is individualized according to each resident's age, abilities, strengths, needs, service plan, educational needs, family and permanency goals, community connections and anticipated transition plan.

E — Explore Your Identity

Young people are encouraged to better understand their strengths, interests, values, goals, cultural identity, accomplishments, coping patterns, triggers and areas for growth.

The goal is greater self-awareness and a stronger understanding of who they are and who they want to become.

V — Voice & Advocate

Residents practice communication, self-advocacy, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.

Young people are encouraged to understand their rights, communicate their needs, ask for help, participate in service planning and use their voice appropriately in decisions affecting their lives.

O — Own Your Future

Future planning becomes practical.

Youth work on educational goals, employment readiness, financial literacy, budgeting, decision-making, accountability and preparation for permanency and transition.

L — Learn to Live Independently

Independent-living skills are practiced through everyday life.

Depending on age and individual needs, this may include personal hygiene, laundry, clothing care, household organization, grocery shopping, meal planning, cooking, food safety, cleaning, scheduling, transportation, healthcare navigation, appointment preparation, time management and money management.

V — Value Healthy Connections

Healthy relationships are essential to long-term stability.

Youth receive opportunities to strengthen communication, boundaries, conflict-resolution skills, teamwork and healthy relationships with family members, peers, supportive adults and their communities.

Family involvement and connection are supported when consistent with the young person's service plan, safety needs and applicable court requirements.

E — Establish Lasting Stability

The final goal extends beyond successful residential placement.

Young people are supported in strengthening emotional regulation, educational or employment continuity, behavioral-health connections, supportive relationships, community resources, safety planning, permanency and realistic transition plans.

A Flexible 12-Week Framework

EVOLVE operates through a rolling 12-week structure so residents can enter the program without waiting for the beginning of a new cycle.

Progress is not measured simply by attendance or completing worksheets.

Staff focus on observable skill development, practice, individual progress, barriers and a young person's ability to apply what they are learning to everyday life.

EVOLVE does not replace psychotherapy, behavioral-health treatment, educational services or medical care. It provides a practical residential framework for reinforcing skills and helping young people apply them in daily life.
